Asian Texans: Our Struggles for Texanness by Irwin Tang

Asian Texans history centers on the struggles of Asian Texas to survive and live with dignity, honor and respect.
Our speaker, Irwin Tang, will relate to various historical episodes that tell the story of how Asian Americans in Texas fought for their Texan identity, and how at the end that earned it.
The talk includes historical narratives of Chinese Texans, Indian Texans, Vietnamese Texans, Filipino Texans, Japanese Texans, Korean Texans, and other Asian Texan ethnic groups. The history to be discussed spans from the days of the Texas Republic through the Great Storm of 1900 through the cataclysm of World War II through the Cold War to the present heyday of Asian Texan living history.
