SIETAR Houston Past Presidents


SIETAR Houston would like to thank the following individuals for the dedication, time and energy they devoted as presidents of the organization. Through their hard work, effort and contributions, SIETAR Houston has grown and developed into a successful, well-established chapter.


Kelli McLoud Schingen, 2005-2007

Kelaine (Kelli) McLoud-Schingen is a Cross-Cultural Consultant who specializes in Domestic Diversity. Kelli has over 12 years training experience and primarily serves educational institutions. She has studied at the Oxford School of Drama and utilizes her acting skills in the training she provides. She holds a MA in Cross-Cultural Studies from the University of Houston, Clear Lake and a BA in Communication from Aurora University.


Beverly Zimmerman, 2003-2005

Beverly has had an interest in other cultures ever since she spent a year backpacking around the world with her husband. With time, she found herself living in every region of the United States, in places as cosmopolitan as New York City and as remote as Anchorage, Alaska. In addition, their shared interest led to taking her family on overseas assignments in Quito, Ecuador and Moscow, Russia. Beverly has worked for a number of years as a youth and adult cross cultural trainer. She recently took a full time position with an internationally recognized relocation company. She continues to present cultural awareness seminars in school and business settings. Beverly is a member of SIETAR USA. She holds a degree in Business Administration with a specialty in Public Relations.


Jan O'Brien, 2002-2003

Jan O'Brien is a UK-born intercultural trainer and consultant who has lived and worked in Europe, Singapore and Thailand and has operated a small business internationally. She is a former employee of the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) where she managed programs in the BBC World Service and foreign language services. She has also gained the Certificate in Intercultural Studies from the University of British Columbia. Jan has worked with people from many language and cultural backgrounds and has expertise in training and consulting on business and family issues during the expatriation and repatriation process.


Marjolijn Ave Lallemant, 2001-2002

Marjolijn is an historian and teacher of history and humanities at the University of Houston- Clear Lake. She loves to travel and experience other cultures.


Andrea Brooks, 2000-2001

Andrea Brooks is an independent cross-cultural consultant with 16 years experience living and working internationally including ten years in Asia. Andrea facilitates cross-cultural training for Americans relocating overseas and "Living and Working in the USA" training programs for people relocating to the USA. In Indonesia, where she lived for nine years, Andrea facilitated pre-departure orientations for Indonesian government employees travelling abroad and facilitated on-arrival orientations for Canadian aid workers arriving in Indonesia. Andrea received a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of British Columbia, Canada and a Certificate in Intercultural Studies also from the University of British Columbia.


Camilla McGill, 1998 - 2000

Camilla is an a intercultural training consultant to global corporations transferring employees worldwide. She has an MBA in International Business and Marketing, and a BS in Medical Technology. She has lived in the USA and Canada where she gained extensive experience in the Asian Indian community as a Board member of the Sarnia Hindu Cultural Society. Her work experience includes marketing management of Orr & Boss, an international consulting company offering services to manufacturing companies in the paint and coatings industries.


Larry Livingston, 1997-1998

Larry is the principal of International Training Resources. He was formally a senior trainer with a Fortune 500 company that provided quality services to NASA's Space Shuttle and Space Station programs. He has served as the Co-chairperson of the International Space Station Advanced Integration Team, International Training, Certification Standards, and Evaluation Splinter Group. Larry has provided just-on-time professional development, technical, experiential and Intercultural training to U. S. and international government and industrial employees, increasing employee overall job performance by 35 percent after training. He has been recognized for his unique delivery skills delivering Change Management and ISO-9001 training and contributed to Allied-Signal's ISO 9000 certification. Larry is Certified Training and Performance Professional that has led results oriented customer specific training workshops. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University in Sociology and Anthropology and a Masters of Science degree in Sociology from Illinois State University. He has hours leading to Bachelors of Arts in Business and a Masters of Business Administration. Some organizations Larry has provided services to include Shell Services, Sonate Off-shore Drilling, Raychem International and Lufthansa Technical Services.


Nancy Dean, 1996 -1997

Nancy writes a column, Houston's International Scene, that appears every Monday in the Houston Chronicle. Upon occasion, she also writes internationally oriented features for the paper. Since she is a journalist by training, and also a former diplomatic spouse who has lived and raised a family in five foreign countries on three continents, she has been lucky enough to meld her two most recognizable talents. However, in her perpetual quest to make coherent writers out of all of us, she also teaches composition at the Art Institute of Houston.


Moira Delgado, 1995 -1996

An American of Filipino/European heritage, Moira is a consultant/trainer for Cross-Cultural Associates, specializing in International training, and Multicultural Health Care Solutions, focusing on patient and workforce diversity issues. She has lived and studied in France and Italy. Moira earned Masters degrees in French and Italian. In addition, Moira has a strong interest in children's programs.


Dr. Carrie Cameron, 1994 -1995

Carrie is a consultant in intercultural relations for corporate, governmental and not-for-profit organizations. Her areas of geographical specialization include Russia and the Pacific Rim. Dr. Cameron has lived and worked in a wide range of international settings, including Mexico, Germany, Russia, Quebec, and Japan, and is married to a Japanese national. She received her Ph.D. in Linguistics from Rice University and BA in Russian from the Monterey Institute


Kathy Garcia Spicer, 1992-1994

Kathy is President of Cross-Cultural Associates. Cross Cultural Associates provides international coaching, consulting and training. Their role is enabling their clients to understand impact of culture, on communication, on business strategies, on global leadership and on team development.


Carol Archer, 1991-1992

Carol has over fifteen years experience developing cross-cultural training programs for corporations and teaching at the University of Houston. She holds a Ph.D. from the Department of education. Her research interests include definition, measurement and effects of ethnocentrism on relationships. Carol is author of the book, "Living with Strangers in the U.S.A."
